What's heaven really like my darling?
Are there flowers everywhere?
Do the rivers flow for miles?
Does the wind blow through your hair?

What's heaven really like my darling?
Does the rain ever fall?
Do the rainbows shine brighter?
Can you touch their colours at all?

What's heaven really like my darling?
Are the clouds soft and light?
Can you float on them for hours?
And sleep peacefully at night?

What's heaven really like my darling?
Is it everything they say?
Are there angels all around?
To brighten up your day?

What's heaven really like my darling?
Does Nannie rock you in her chair?
Does Poppy take you for a walk?
Is there freshness in the air?

What's heaven really like my darling?
Is everyone at peace?
Do they care if your black or white?
Did all the hatred cease?

Please let Mommy know my darling,
So I can rest again,
I need to know you're happy,
And free from all the pain.

I know God is with me,
I know he'll see me through,
So please save a spot for Mommy,
And when it's time I'll join you too.
